Crete-heads! Owen Blevins, ConcreteAnswers.TV bringing you the Internet’s most passionate show about concrete plants and equipment. Today, Command Alkon’s own Randy Willaman is going to talk to us about their PWS System they just intro-ed at World of Concrete 2010. Take a peek. My name is Randy Willaman, I’m here today to talk about a new product that simplifies the process of moisture calibration while also significantly improving the accuracy of moisture readings in your course aggregates. Every producer today really struggles with the ability to produce the slump right the first time. Using the precision water system and being able to identify all the sources of water in your system, the producer can gain the economic benefit of being able to produce the concrete to the correct slump the first time. So I want to talk a little bit about how that occurs. Precision Water System consists of three components. The first component is a moisture probe system, a moisture probe – which is the Command Alkon probe. So if you have existing probes in your plant, they can be easily connected to the Precision Water System. We also support a handful of competitive probes as well. We have a moisture interface controller which has a processor inside which connects to the sensors. It has a network connection to it, so you can use a single cable to connect back to your computer system or to COMMANDbatch system. What that means is that you can mount this up on the batch deck, very close to the moisture probes and have very short cables between your moisture probes and the Precision Water System and then a single network cable, as I said, back to the COMMANDbatch computer. The real value of the Precision Water System is its integration with COMMANDbatch. Using the integration that’s in place you are able to use multiple materials in the same probe bin without having to do a recalibration. So as soon as the material is changed in the bin, in the COMMANDbatch system, the Precision Water System is instantly changed to use that new calibration. Randy, thanks for the demo. Looks like Command is kind of stepping it up here with this PWS, Precision Water Systems module, that they’re adding in to their repertoire. So if you guys get it, you can empty out of material, dump in a new one, completely different, you don’t have to recalibrate for moisture levels. Pretty cool stuff if you ask me. Makes it easy, simple, fast. Last thing I want is a batch operator who has to have to worry about calibrating a probe if I’m switching materials out in a bin. So, thumbs up here, dudes, good job.
