Crete-heads! Owen Blevins, ConcreteAnswers.TV bringing you the Internet’s most passionate show about concrete plants and equipment. Hey, what’s a hot topic today? Energy! More than that energy savings, everything’s going up. Remember last year, what, $4.50 for a gallon of diesel? Crazy. Bobby came up with this product called the Stack Economizer. Bolts onto the top of a bulk therm water heater, this thing is nothing short of a miracle. This thing will show you the money, baby. Take a peek while Bobby demo’s it. I’m Bob Giannetti from Infern-O-therm Corporation. We’re here in Pennsylvania at a trade show for the concrete industry. I manufacture heating equipment for the concrete industry – direct fire bulk therm tanks. What we have here is we have developed a new system – patent pending. Simple in design and easy to install, using only the exhaust gasses out of the flue to preheat incoming water. Let me give you an example. Your well water comes out of the ground at 50 to 55 degrees. Your stack temperature is 450 to 460 degrees on a standard 2.8 million BTU unit. We use that wasted gas that normally goes out into the atmosphere and we pre-heat the incoming water up to 32 degrees, tests have noted up to 35 degrees. Then that water goes into your tank pre-heated. Savings on this makes your bulk therm water tank up to 95% efficient. Payback is an easy 6 to 7 months. Unit is constructed of 3/16’s steel, with an engineered copper and aluminum fin coil, fully insulated, includes a water circulation pump. What’s a water circulation pump for? Through the evening when you tank is full of hot water, the burner comes on to maintain that temperature for 10, 15, 20 minutes throughout the evening. The circulation pump kicks on, circulates water through the Stack Economizer thus increasing the efficiency even on the make up of the water. It also protects the coil from burnout using those hot exhaust gasses. We’ve noted temperatures, dropped stack temperatures down to 160 to 180 degrees. Do you want to talk about an environmentally friendly piece of equipment, an add on to a direct fire bulk therm heater? It’s right here. It’s right here. If you have a direct fire tank you should not be without one of these. Hey, can you say free heat? Bobby, you’re a hot water god. What a neat piece of equipment. Thanks for making that thing and bringing it to the industry. I’m telling you guys, bolt this thing up to your existing equipment, add it with your new equipment. It will save you money from day 1. It bolts right on to the exhaust stack, as Bobby said, two guys, two days got it installed and from then on it’s gravy. Talk to you soon. Thanks to our sponsor, Mid-Atlantic Concrete Equipment.
